Today marks 60 years since Padrón Cigars was founded by José Orlando Padrón. To celebrate this milestone, Padrón is releasing its 60th Anniversary Perfecto cigar. While this new release might be hard to find right now, we decided to film a review of the previous milestone cigar, the Padrón 50th Anniversary Maduro.
The Padrón 50th Anniversary cigar, also known as “The Hammer,” was one of the most noteworthy releases at the time. Initially, this cigar was available exclusively as part of a humidor set, and purchasing the humidor granted buyers the ability to purchase more of these cigars. Since then, other brands have adopted a similar approach, offering rights to buy additional cigars when a humidor is purchased. However, Padrón was the first to introduce this concept.
In our latest video, we revisit the 50th Anniversary cigar to see if it lives up to its reputation. Suffice it to say, it does not disappoint. The flavor profile of this cigar is exceptional, setting it apart from many others on the market. Sure, it comes with a premium price tag, but the great thing about Padrón is that, while their cigars are on the higher end, they are still reasonably accessible, especially if you’re only buying a few singles.
These cigars can still be found if you’re lucky, though they are becoming rare. In the meantime, check out our video below to see how the cigar performs.
