Cigar birthdays in December. Like every month we celebrate some of the people in the cigar industry. If we miss anybody on our calendar, please let us know and we will add him or her. Here are the birthdays for December.
December 4: Meera Levin. The crown princess of Ashton. The daughter of Robert Levin, the founder of the Ashton cigar & pipe tobacco brand. The owners of the renowned Holts cigar shop in Philadelphia. And the Ashton Cigar Bar above the shop.
December 6: Ernesto Padilla. Generations of tobacco history lead to the birth of Padilla Cigars over 20 years ago. And the brand is still going strong with cigars made in the USA, Nicaragua, and Honduras
December 6: Philipp Kugler. Possibly the youngest cigar brand owner in the world, but for sure in Europe. He started Cigar Kings at the young age of 20, and the brand is now for sale in Asia as well.
December 7: Pete Johnson. Tatuaje, every cigar enthousiast must know that name by now. Johnson is the founder, the creator, the blender and the face for the brand that is internationally recognized
December 12: Hamlet Paredes. The Cuban master roller who defected to America where Rocky Patel took him under his wings. And now Hamlet travels the world, promoting the Hamlet cigars for Rocky Patel.
December 17: Fred vanderMarliere. The CEO of J. Cortes, the Belgian cigar giant. But with Cortes, also the owner of the Nicaraguan cigar company Oliva.
December 18: Didier v Houvenaghel. Author of the best cigar book in the world: from soil to soul. And the owner of DH Boutique cigars which include La Preferida, La Furia, La Ley, and Nicarao cigars.
December 25: Dean Parsons. Epic Cigars. Made in the Dominican Republic, available in several countries around the world. And praised for their flavor, construction, and consistency.
December 26: Esteban Disla. A master blender, a brand owner. But also part owner of the RoMa Craft factory Nica Sueños in Esteli, Nicaragua.
