Recently I tried out a product called the Perfecto Cigar Holder. Many thanks to Gary for sending me this tool for review.
Perfecto Cigar Holder is exactly what it sounds like—a product designed to hold a cigar when you are out and about and are not in a location with an ashtray or another good place to set down your cigar. Think of it as a portable ashtray. The device itself has a resting place for the cigar, a tube for catching ash, and a C-clamp. The idea with the C-clamp is that you can use it to clamp the device onto any surface (a railing for example). So even if you don’t have a table, you can still set your cigar down.
How did it perform? It’s well constructed, but a bit bulky. Despite being bulky, it is lightweight, which is great, and appears to be made with materials that can withstand contact with concrete and other harsh materials without scratching or getting damaged. The nylon it’s made out of can withstand temperatures up to 520 degrees F / 271 C, so there are no melting concerns. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing device, and it looks a bit awkward, but it has a lot of utility.
How useful the Perfecto Cigar Holder is will depend largely on what you want to do with it. For example, it is not very useful in the car, since there is no surface which can accommodate it. But it’s perfect for clamping onto a picnic table, and apparently it will fit most golf carts. I don’t golf, so I can’t attest to that, but I can definitely see where it’d be a great application, and it would be useful if you were out in the park with your laptop working on a bench for example (I noticed that I placed the cigar “ash out” in the picture above. It’s not the way you’re normally supposed to do it). So, all in all, a useful product. I recommend looking up its dimensions and deciding whether or not it will benefit you. Think about what surfaces you would want to attach it to and where and when you would be using it to decide if it would be a good purchase, either from the official website or from Amazon.
Wide jaws accommodate many surfaces and the clamping force is sufficient. Since the cigar holder is not adjustable, it’s only useful on horizontal or near horizontal surfaces.
I have many cigar clips, the best is “CigarMinder” at my local B&M for $10.95. Half the size and price.

What a great idea for when I am working outside in the yard. I am always looking for a safe place to set my cigar down so that it will not get wrecked. 🙂
I could sure use the device when I am working on machinery in my work shop!
Thanks for the contest – the Perfecto is a great utility and I can think of lots of great places to put it.
When you spend a lot of time moving around in your shop you find ash trays everywhere and they tend to get spilled, bumped or broken. The clamptray would be perfect for giving the stick a place to rest while you work or when you need both hands to complete a task. Great idea this, wish I’d thought of it!

Great review. Looks like a pretty handy accessory, albeit a pretty specialized, if it suits your needs, type of device. I could definitely find a way to make use of it. 20 is a bit steep though.
I could always use a place to store my stogie when I am working outside and not around my stands!

Easy to carry, easy to use and looks very handy. My sticks would be happy to rest here. If I don’t win one I may buy one, great accessory.
Looks a little bulky but at the same time it should be good for attaching to thicker objects or surfaces than something like the cigar minder can. Also not needing two hands to put your cigar down is a big plus. Definitely would be a nice accessories addition.

This item looks like its a perfect grill accessory , while grilling I never want to drop ashes on the food, I would love to try this item out in this aspect.

That looks like a great holder. I bought a holder last year not as fancy as the Perfecto Cigar Holder but it fell out of the truck and got squished. It was great before then.

Looks like it corrects all the problems with my other cigar clips – it can be used with one hand, doesn’t damage the wrapper, and can accommodate angled surfaces.
Dozens of places where this would be useful. Wouldn’t have to balance that stogie on the park bench and possibly leave a burn mark. Thanks for the chance to win one.
