I have been enjoying the Davidoff Nicaragua boxed pressed and had this little panatela in the humidor for a while.
I never really expect much for such a little cigar. I personally like the Hoyo de Monterrey du Maire or the Cohiba Panatela.
This Davidoff Primero is surprisingly powerful. Developing rich a thick smoke from the beginning. The draw is perfect, therefore the cigar burns very quickly and tends to overheat.
This panatela is medium to strong. The acidity is high and allow the beautiful sweetness and chocolate taste to last long on the palate. The structure builds up straight from the beginning until the end. The finish is complex and very enjoyable for such a small cigar. The chocolaty flavours are long lasting.
Not much development to the cigar as it is blended to develop the previously stated flavour profile during the 15 minutes of smoking time.
I believe it is a great post lunch short cigar or pre dinner for people enjoying strong cigars.

I’m a great fan of Davidoffs, but the Nicaragua series is crime de la creme. Of the Primeros, the Nicaragua Natural is my definite favourite, on a busy day 30 mins, on a lazy day 40 minutes of pure pleasure.
Compare to, and enjoy also Trinidad Reyes which is more complex and with a 10-15 mins longer enjoyment.

Don’t forget, this is a Mediumfiller which limits the complexity and evolution of flavours.
