5 Vegas cigars have always been hit or miss with me. But a few years back I received one of these in a sampler pack, and absolutely loved it. When I was given the opportunity to review this cigar for the first time, I had to do it. This is one of my personal favorite cigars with the 5 Vegas name.

    Appearance : [rating:4/5]
The cigar had a great medium shade of brown wrapper, almost chocolate brown. The perfecto shape is perfect. Easy to cut, easy to light, what more could you ask for? The cigar is perfectly tapered on both ends. It gives off a great sweet smell.

    Construction : [rating:4/5]
The cigar is made extremely well. There were no splits or peels once I cut the cigar. There were no veins in the wrapper that could alter the smoke pattern. The wrapper was very smooth and oily. Also the cigar was wrapped very tight, with absolutely no soft spots throughout the stick.

    Flavor : [rating:4/5]
This particular cigar switches up its flavor profile quite often. For the first few inches, I was getting a very strong coffee flavor with a good amount of cinnamon undertones. These two flavors were very prominent through the first third. The midpoint of the cigar got much sweeter when a chocolate flavor entered the mix. The major flavor profile change came right around the half way point when the spiciness of pepper came in strong and combined with the coffee and chocolate flavors. This flavor combination led all the way through until the finish of this great stick.

    Value : [rating:5/5]
What can I say? For $5 a stick, you really cant go wrong. This cigar is easily comparable to cigars that have $8.00 – $10.00 price tags on them. This cigar if definitely one that I would buy again.

    Overall Rating : [rating:4.25/5] (4.25)
If you are someone who really likes the ash on the cigar, this cigar has a good one. It’s a little flakey, but it’s strong and holds on well. The aroma is very sweet with just a little bit of spice mixed in. The burn is even for the most part all the way through. It gets a little wavy at times, but always evens out. The only thing I don’t like about this cigar is the draw. Because of how tight it is wrapped and of the perfecto shape, the draw is a little tight.

If you are someone who is a fan of medium to full bodied cigars I recommend this cigar to you.

I picked up a 5-pack of these Relics from Joe Cigar about a month ago. I had never heard of this vitola but since it was 5 Vegas, I was very interested in trying it.

It started spicy and mellowed somewhat after a while, but it remained spicy during the whole smoke. It had plenty of smoke, but it didn’t stay lit very well towards the end, I had to relight it several times before I finally put it down. The burn was also uneven, I had to relight it a couple of times on 1 side only to try to even it up. And I wasn’t smoking it very fast, which could contribute to it going out, but I only put it down for 5-10 minutes at a time, which I have done with many other cigars without an issue. Other than the spice, I also tasted small hints of a creamy flavor. It is an interesting smoke, but not nearly as good as the “A” Series cigars that I love so much from 5 Vegas.

After buying a box, I had this cigar for the first time and was very pleased. Aside from the small draw issue, it was alost perfect in every other way. The flavor profile is outstanding.

5 vegas are my fovorite cheaper than dirt cigars. The only one that I don’t like is the new gold maduro. I love the classic and the Cask strength and also enjoy the regular gold, miami and A. These are good too but they need to be dry boxed for about 5-6 days before smoking. You won’t have the draw problem.

I love the perfecto shape and great construction on this cigar! The cinnamon notes are well balanced; this cigar is dessert, and the price is killer.

I was handed one of these a while ago that had been resting in a friend’s humidor for a year and a half. It was very good. He told me they take a year or more to come into their own.
