Cigar of the Week: Ashton Virgin Sun-Grown

Ever since it came out in 1999, the Ashton Virgin-Sun-Grown (VSG) blend has been a huge success for the PA-based company. Cigar smokers generally agree that this is the tastiest line from Ashton, and this has been confirmed this year in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 list, where it earned the #9 spot.

Ashton VSG Illusion

  • I was highly impressed with the Ashton VSG Illusion (it's a lonsdale). Full-bodied, it mixes both spiciness and sweetness in a very rich palette of flavors.
  • Rob from says that one has to have the VSG in his or her regular rotation and compares it to an Opus X in quality.
  • Ben at admits that the VSG started his life-long love affair with cigars.

Where to get it?

Ashton VSG is positioned as a premium cigar, so one stick will cost you approximately $10, depending on the vitola. Feel free to compare the prices here.

  1. I got it from cigarbar Mahogny in Philadelphia, PA. The price is 10$, more or less. It taste, in my opinion, worthy 10$, haha.

  2. thanks for the pingback. This cigar is my all time favorite and holds a special place in my heart for me. I will never be without these in my humidor.

  3. Indeed one of my favorites. I make sure I have a VSG no matter what the Vitola in my humidor. Well worth the price.
