I have always wondered why men undervalued slimmer cigars, such as panatellas and grand panatellas. Elegant and graceful, these vitolas are quite often very rich in flavor. Let me try to convince you that panatellas are equal if not superior to your favorite robustos or toros. I tried to choose the best one out there, and in my opinion it is the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 2.
Appearance : Rating:
Impeccable, soft colorado wrapper.
Construction : Rating:
Never worry about the construction while smoking the SdC No. 2. The ring can seem narrow but it doesn’t affect the draw which is perfect.
Flavor : Rating:
A lot of spice in the first minutes, then the cigar settles down and provides mostly earthy and woody flavors until the end of the first third. Some sweetness and creaminess appear as the second third begins. The cocktail is quite powerful yet not overabundant. The finish is very smooth, something that I expect from such a complex cigar.
Value : Rating:
The price tag is correct.
Overall Rating : Rating:
I hope I managed to persuade you that this Partagas can be worth more than a good robusto. Let’s be different from the masses and treat ourselves with this beauty.
