Do you like hookah?

well, i like much more pipe smoking, but here and there, when i have the opportunity to smoke a narghile, i always enjoy it quite a lot. as you said, a great way to socialize.

I haven’t had the opportunity to try a hookah, but I’m not sure I would like the whole flavoured tobacco thing. Can you smoke regular pipe tobacco in it or is it special hookah ‘baccy only?

P.S. whenever I see a picture of one of those, I always think of the caterpillar in Alice In Wonderland. :D

I too hookah quite regularly. My wife and I find it a great way to socialize. It’s also a very nice change from cigars once in a while

my best friend is iranian and made me smoke some at like 13 years old, at first i went bananas about it i even bought one
but now i kinda stoped liking it,i dont say i wont smoke it ever no more but i now prefare cigars even if they are more difficult to taste because they are for first more adictive and more harmfull for your body
second i feel that a cigar is a more fine-classy type of taste and aroma if i can compare
if smoking was a drink
shisha would be a cocktail ex;sex on the beach
cigarette would be cheap strong beer ex: st.ides
and cigar would be a nice brandy or whyskey ex:
from jhonny walker black label to the finest henesy but that is more about good cigars

i used to smoke lots of shisha, but i’ve given up and now solely smoke cigars. the trouble is theres no good tobocco available anymore. flavored toboccos used to be aged tobocco mixed with honey and natural flowers and fruits. now a days mass production and bad taste has turned it into mixing ok grade tobacco with glycerine instead of honey and “artificial” flavors instead of natural ones. the result is something distasteful. they do smoke real pure tobacco with them, but they’re extremely heavy on the lungs and head. they’re sold as “ajami” in arab countries, meaning persian. i guess if one can find great tobacco and “flavor” it in the old style himself with honey and natural flavors it would be something nice to try. but not the commercial ones they sell. another problem with hookah is the draw. you need to put much more pressure on ur lungs, if u put that kind of pressure on a cigar u’ll ruin it. so result is much more work on the part of ur lungs, also, the hot smoke brings with itself water vapour, which gathers in the lungs, together with all the artificially flavore tobacco you smoke. result is definite cancer, while i cant say the same on the cigars, as they are perfect natural products and theres no inhaling and theres lots of examples of serious cigar smokers living to happy old ages . so .. good old times that shisha smokers could find quality and naturally flavored tobacco. i smoked for more than 6 years, past 2 years of it up to 5 shishas a day all by myself, and when i saw the effects on my lungs, i gave up. theres nothing like the quality and care that goes into cuban toboccos.
