Although less pleasant than the Serie V (IMO), I enjoyed the Oliva Serie O Toro, an attractive Nicaraguan puro. Beautifully constructed and with decent flavors, this stick is yet another excellent creation by Oliva Cigars.
Appearance : Rating:
With its sun-grown habano wrapper, this is definitely a beautiful stick. It is regularly packed, smooth and pleasant to the touch. There are a few tiny water discolorations on the wrapper.
Construction : Rating:
On this particular stick, I don’t remember having any draw or burn problems. It burned regularly and the ash held for at least 1 1/2 ”.
Flavor : Rating:
The Serie O Toro starts with flavors of light coffee and spice. In the second third, the bouquet gets much richer with delicious cedary notes and hints of caramel. The finish is not as good with strong leather flavors and a lot of pepper.
Value : Rating:
Most sticks from Oliva provide a very good price/quality ratio. The Serie O Toro is not an exception.
Overall Rating : Rating:
I’m in love with the brand and will try to get other cigars from their range, especially the Serie G and the Master Blend.
