Since the 1920’s Krugerstrasse 5 has been home to one of Vienna’s first exclusive bars. In fact, it is the oldest Cocktail Bar in Vienna still in existence . In the center of the red light district of the time, which surrounded the Kärntnerstrasse, the former Kaiser Bar with it’s “yellow saloon” was the place to be for the viennese jeunesse dorrée.
The Krugers Bar preserves this old bar culture not only in it´s interior but also on the cocktail menu. The exclusive leather furniture is completely original from the 1920’s and 1930’s – partly even from Paris. Fully refurbished they give the Kruger’s it’s incredible cosy club atmosphere.
Adding to this great atmosphere is also the fact that you are still able to smoke cigarettes and cigars in a separate smoker´s lounge. Music-wise, the Krugers American Bar mixes old tunes from Dean Martin, Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, etc. with modern jazz, swing and soul.
This might be reason enough also for international celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to spend a night at Kruger´s while their stay in Vienna.
