This particular target was a part of a larger group of individual targets that I decided to undertake all at once. The Cuvee Blanc Churchill was the first target out of the three in the group, and I have to say that I was impressed with this very pleasant cigar.

The construction of this particular is excellent. I found no imperfections or flaking on the surprisingly plain natural Connecticut wrapper. While the cigar band brings mild attention to the cigar with its blue and gold, it could be very easy to see this cigar in a store and pass it along because there really isn’t anything that makes it stand out.

Using a punch and a wooden match for this cigar, I got a very even draw and burn from the Cuvee Blanc. A notably easy draw with using a punch, not always the case that I have found with other churchills. Not a strong cigar by any means – definitely a mild to medium cigar, leaning more mild. The familiar notes of tobacco and cedar were accompanied by slight hints of spice. This combination of spice and strength in a cigar could be appealing to many cigar smokers.

After about 30 minutes of smoking the cigar, I noticed that the cigar’s ash was still holding strong, the length at around an inch. The enjoyable spice from the initial burning mellowed out after 30 minutes or so. The burn and draw from the cigar stayed perfect throughout the entire smoke, which lasted about an hour and a half. It was noted that starting around the 50 minute mark that the cigar did slightly pick up in strength. About the only negative I could find with this cigar was that it was less fragrant than previous cigars I have smoked in the past. Certainly not a deal breaker by any means.

Recommendations: While I probably would not buy a box of these, I would not hesitate at all to purchase these in singles. A nice mild to medium cigar with a nice flavor from the hint of spice. I think the Cuvee Blanc is another example of a cigar that amateur enthusiasts can enjoy while the battle-hardened connoisseurs can look at this and say “this is a welcome change.”

Not had the Churchill, but have smoked a few of the Cuvee Blanc Robustos recently. Mild cigar, but flavoursome, with good draw and excellent appearance and construction.
