I initially planned to review another petit corona, but (I am getting used to it…) my local B&M ran out of those and I ended up buying a few VegaFina Short Coronas, since they were cheap and reminded me of my good experiences with the Robusto. Back home, I went to the Altadis website to get some more information about this stick and I was quite surprised to see that it was not even there and the cigars listed definitely had a brighter wrapper shade. After some research, I found out that indeed the cigars sold in Europe are completely different: instead of an Ecuadorian claro wrapper, a maduro oscuro from Brazil is used and the filler is Dominican/Peruvian (vs Columbian/Dominican/Honduran in the US). However, both cigars are hecho a mano in la Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic.

In the days to come, I will be publishing a few reviews of cigars that I smoked during my stay in Dubai, UAE. I must say that I was pretty disappointed when I found out that Cuban cigars there cost even more than in France (considering that a pack of cigarettes is 5 times cheaper). That’s why I only smoked one Cuban cigar and that’s the Montecristo No. 4. According to some sources, this is the most sold cigar in the world (I know for sure that this is the second best-selling cigar in France, behind the Partagas Serie D No. 4). It is considered as one of the big classics.

I purchased this Cigar at a small tobacco shop located in Cincinnati, OH. I bought it November 16th, 2007 and I smoked it the same day because of the appearance of Bloom. The Weather Conditions were low forties, and humidity was around fifty percent. There was also zero wind. This Cigar was smoked by me at Xavier University, Located in Norwood, Ohio.

The Trinidad Reyes is not one of your straight out of the box type cigars. These require a bit of ageing first. However, with a couple of weeks in the Humidor, I found this to be an excellent smoke, meaty and wonderful.
