Cigar Smoking is a social activity. Nothing compliments good food, drink and conversation than a cigar. I can think of no other cigar presentation that encourages being social more than Partagas Culebras. Culebras I am told means “snake” and this twisted, braid of a cigar trio is a conversation starter and a Cuban smoke not to be missed.

The lore of why Culebras are braided together range from “so employees could steal more cigars”, to “making it possible that employees couldn’t sell their unique daily stipend of cigars on the black market”. I tend to believe the legend that says “this is a marketing ploy.” Whatever story you subscribe to the Culebras won’t let you down.

I was happy to put my hands on this cigar because the Partagas Serie D No. 5 LE 2008 sold out very fast in my local cigar shops and I almost forgot about it. Following the trend, it is a short robusto that is supposed to pack a full array of flavors in a small vitola. A mini-PD4, in other words. With all the leaves aged for at least two years, this cigar should be smokeable immediately.

Partagas Shorts is an interesting small vitola, another good fit for cold winter months. Although the factory name is minuto, don't expect to finish it in less than half an hour - if you take it slowly as I'd recommend you will need around 40 minutes to fully enjoy one. Behind an unobtrusive appearance hides a surprisingly rich flavor profile.

I have always wondered why men undervalued slimmer cigars, such as panatellas and grand panatellas. Elegant and graceful, these vitolas are quite often very rich in flavor. Let me try to convince you that panatellas are equal if not superior to your favorite robustos or toros. I tried to choose the best one out there, and in my opinion it is the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 2.

Along with Punch Double Coronas, the Partagas Lusitanias is one of the classic Prominentes. Prominente is a very long cigar, smoking one requires patience and concentration. Definitely not a cigar for beginners.

Let me make it clear - the Partagas Coronas Senior does not provide an exceptional flavor. However, it's still one of the best 1-hour smokes out there, especially for this price. My first choice when it comes to good price/quality ratios.
