Purchased a box of these cigars after browsing through Cigar Aficionado’s best cigars of 2007 ratings. Romeo y Julieta Aniversario Corona boasts an impressive 92 rating and is #19 in the top 25. CA mentions flavors of cedar, earth, licorice and nuts. Since I knew what to expect, I managed to detect most of these. What I fail to understand though is why the magazine never noted frequent construction issues with this stick.

Macanudo is one of the brands I was eager to try, since a lot of people are searching for “macanudo” here at Cigar Inspector. As soon as I had an opportunity, I got myself a few of Hampton Courts (tubos) for about 6 USD each. According to Leafy Times, the Robust line is the most interesting although I can’t say that I was impressed with this cigar.

I like these cigars from one of the most famous manufacturers. Davidoff usually equals high quality and luxury and his cigars usually come up to the expectations. Davidoff 2000 is a mild corona that boasts a perfect construction and exquisite (though not very deep) flavors.

Ah, the Hoyo De Monterrey, truly a classic since the mid 70’s. I can appreciate this smoke, obvously well crafted judging by the look, though the feel is a bit misleading. If you pick up one of these to try, I would advise not paying too much attention to the feel at all.
